June 29, 2007 - Veterans for Common Sense is the only veterans organization using the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to obtain reports from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) describing the escalating human cost of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Without our work, the Congress, the press, and the public would not know that 229,000 new war veterans were already treated by VA and that 180,000 filed disability claims against VA. To view our most recent FOIA sent to VA, please go to this link: http://www.veteransforcommonsense.org.previewdns.com/files/VFCS/VCS_FOIA_GWOT_Claims_06-18-2007.pdf
