The network, quoting its Baghdad correspondent Fayiza al-Ezzi, said unidentified attackers had lobbed two hand grenades at the tank after exchanging fire with its crew.
It said the attack occurred in front of the city’s main mosque, the Abu Hanifa mosque in the Aadhamiya district, adding that more Americans troops and Iraqis were wounded.
There was no immediate comment from the U.S. military.
U.S.-led forces toppled Iraqi president Saddam Hussein in April. U.S. troops have come under attack several times in recent days from Iraqis who resent their presence.
